TMR Grass Cultivation
The Foundation of Dairy Nutrition
At Vonteddu Group, we don’t just grow grass—we grow the foundation of quality dairy. With over 20,000 acres of fertile land dedicated to scientific grass cultivation, we ensure our cows receive fresh, nutrient-rich fodder all year round. For us, great dairy truly starts at the root—because when you control the quality of feed, you control the quality of milk. By growing our own high-nutrition grasses, we eliminate dependency on external sources and guarantee consistency from field to feed. Every blade of grass is cultivated with care, harvested at its nutritional peak, and tailored to support the health and productivity of our herds. From sunlit pastures to sustainable irrigation zones, our approach combines modern farming techniques with a deep respect for nature—ensuring that every drop of milk we produce begins with purpose, balance, and integrity.
Our Fodder Portfolio
Each fodder variety is handpicked to ensure a balance of protein, energy, and fiber, forming the basis of our Total Mixed Ration (TMR) for healthy, high-yielding dairy cattle.
Napier Grass
Napier is a high-yielding, perennial tropical grass known for its rapid regrowth and suitability for silage. Its thick stems and lush green foliage make it ideal for frequent harvesting and long-term use. This grass is rich in digestible fiber and helps improve rumen function in dairy cattle. It thrives in warm climates and is a cornerstone of sustainable fodder planning.
Key Benefits:
-
Excellent for silage making
-
Quick regrowth cycle
-
High dry matter yield

CO-3 & CO-4
These are protein-rich, high-biomass hybrid grasses developed specifically for dairy nutrition. Known for their fast growth, palatability, and soft texture, they are especially suitable for young and lactating animals. Their high leaf-to-stem ratio ensures better intake and digestibility. CO-3 and CO-4 also have excellent regrowth potential, making them cost-effective for rotational harvesting.

Para Grass
Para grass is a hardy, water-loving species ideal for wetlands, low-lying areas, and effluent-irrigated fields. It grows aggressively and forms a dense mat that prevents soil erosion while providing consistent green fodder. Its adaptability to challenging waterlogged conditions makes it a valuable resource in diverse environments. Para grass is also well-accepted by cattle due to its soft leaves and good nutritional content.

Key Benefits:
-
Thrives in wetlands and effluent zones
-
Tolerates high humidity
-
Prevents soil erosion
-
Moisture-loving tropical grass

Lucerne (Alfalfa)
Lucerne, also known as alfalfa, is a protein powerhouse and natural mineral booster for dairy animals. As a legume, it fixes nitrogen in the soil, enriching it for future crops and contributing to soil health. It’s highly digestible and improves milk quality and reproductive efficiency in cattle. Lucerne also provides essential amino acids and is especially valuable during lactation and peak production phases.

Sorghum & Maize Green Fodder
These cereal forages are packed with readily available energy and are ideal for boosting milk production and body condition. They’re easy to grow, quick to harvest, and provide excellent dry matter yield per acre. When chopped and fed green, they enhance digestibility and rumen function in dairy animals. Both sorghum and maize are also ideal ingredients for TMR due to their balanced carbohydrate content.

Total Mixed Ration (TMR) factory
Total Mixed Ration, or TMR, is a smart way of feeding dairy and beef cattle. Instead of giving animals different types of feed separately, everything they need—like hay, grains, proteins, vitamins, and minerals—is mixed together into one consistent blend. That way, every bite they take gives them the right balance of nutrients. It helps prevent picky eating, supports better digestion, and can lead to more milk and healthier animals overall. Of course, it does take the right equipment and some careful planning to get the mix just right, but when done well, TMR makes feeding more efficient and keeps livestock in great shape.
"Precision nutrition meets smart automation to fuel healthier dairy herds."
Our Total Mixed Ration (TMR) factory will process

Chopped Grass Fodder
Fresh, chopped grass fodder is rich in fiber and essential nutrients, providing our cattle with the energy they need for healthy digestion and optimal growth.

Dry Hay
Dry hay is a vital source of roughage that ensures cows receive the right balance of fiber to support rumen function and overall digestive health.

Molasses
Molasses enhances the flavor and palatability of the feed, while also providing natural sugars that boost energy and support overall cow vitality.

Crushed grains
Crushed grains offer a concentrated source of energy, improving milk production and providing the essential carbohydrates that cattle need for peak performance.

Salt and mineral mixes
A carefully formulated blend of salt and minerals ensures our cattle receive the essential micronutrients they need for strong bones, immune function, and optimal milk yield.

Eco-Friendly Water Management
At Vonteddu Group, we believe that taking care of the land is just as important as caring for our animals. That’s why we reuse treated water and bio-waste from our biogas plants, effluent systems, and hydroponic setups to naturally feed and water our grasslands. It’s a smart, sustainable cycle that helps us grow lush, healthy pastures—without wasting a drop.
To make sure we’re ready for tomorrow too, we’ve built underground water storage tanks beneath our feed godowns. They help us store water safely and sustainably, so our fields stay green and productive all year long. For us, it's all about farming in a way that’s good for the animals, the land, and the future.

Long-Term Strategy
We plan to always keep enough feed in reserve to last five years, so our herds are well-fed no matter what challenges come our way. Once we've built up that safety net, any extra TMR we produce won't go to waste—instead, we'll sell it to other farms and organizations. This way, we’re not just looking after our own livestock, but also turning our TMR production into a smart, income-generating part of the business.
